The Brown University Medicine/Pediatrics Residency participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications are accepted from graduates of approved medical schools exclusively through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS). M.D. and D.O. graduates from U.S. schools register for ERAS through their Dean's Office.
We invite qualified applicants for a personal interview, which includes the opportunity to meet faculty and residents, and to tour Rhode Island/Hasbro Children's and Women's and Infants Hospitals.
Letters of Reference
Applicants to the Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program are asked to submit four letters of reference, in addition to their Dean's letter. At least one letter of reference should be a "Departmental" letter from the applicant's Department of Internal Medicine and one letter from the Department of Pediatrics. "Departmental" letters can come from the chairperson of the department or clerkship director. The remaining two letters are at the discretion of the applicant.
International Medical Graduate Applicants
The ECFMG serves as the Dean's Office for all IMGs, including USIMGs. Please be advised that the program does not support H-1 visas. US Clinical experience is strongly recommended.
Invitation to Interview
Interview invitations are sent to applicants through the ERAS email system beginning in October. Applications will be reviewed through December 31st. Interview appointment opportunities generally fill early.
